IPS E.MAX® Press


IPS e.max® Press (pressed lithium disilicate) as an excellent and affordable, metal-free alternative to PFMs.  IPS e.max® Press provides world-class esthetics and outstanding marginal accuracy.

This pressed lithium disilicate restoration has been the “go-to” material for dentists and labs for years when high esthetics and superb fit are desired. e.max® Press is etched and can be bonded and used in partial coverage veneers, single molars and bridges (up to three units in the premolar and anterior regions only). Due to the translucency a stump shade of the preparation is required. Flexural strength of pressed e.max® is 400 MPa.  Guidelines Updated 06.17.19

Indications: Excellent for anteriors to premolars, including veneers and posterior inlays and onlays. Strong enough for up to three-unit bridges, pre-molars forward, and on ideal preparations.
Contra-indications: Cannot be cemented over dark stump shades, metal posts, or metal implant abutments. Please be sure to include a stump shade for our evaluation. Limited to three-unit bridges.
Preparation: 1.5mm minimal reduction occlusally and axially with champher margins preferred for best fits.
Seating: Bondable with resin cements for maximum esthetics and strength. All our e.max® Press crowns are etched by us prior to delivery. e.max® Press is also cementable with some traditional crown and bridge cements.
Shade Guide: Excellent for all shades. Always include a stump shade for best results.
